The Best Wkrp Turkey Drop T-Shirt For Gift

The Wkrp Turkey Drop is a yearly charity event that occurs on Thanksgiving Day that aims to feed the hungry of Trenton, New Jersey. The mysterious Mr. Redd travels all around Trenton in his old red truck and hands out turkeys to residents whom he judges to be most needy of a good meal.

The event has grown from a small neighborhood effort into a major city-wide charitable endeavor drawing thousands of volunteers each year. It's not just about getting food into people's mouths but also an opportunity for many who might otherwise go without any human interaction, with Mr. Redd often seen talking and joking with citizens all day long.

The event almost never happens every year due to threats from various sources such as disgruntled rival charities or local politicians who disagree with some of the rules surrounding the event. Every time it looks like there will be a conflict that prevents it from happening, Mr. Redd always finds a way to make sure the door gets unlocked at exactly 6 AM on Thanksgiving Day.

Here are all five times when The Wkrp Turkey Drop saving Thanksgiving for Trenton residents:

"Mr. Redd arrived early in front of my house... I was extremely thankful." - Sarah M., Frankford Ave. (2005)

"The neighbors were very pleased and brought us extra food because they were so grateful that we didn't have to go without." - Mrs. Hartnett, Westfield Ave (2007)

"I don't know what would've happened if I didn't get a turkey... I would've died." - Mr. Davis, Southard Ave (2012)

"Who are you?" - Joey F., Norton St. (2015)

"Mr. Redd was wheeled away by several police officers in an ambulance to be treated for injuries sustained when the air conditioning unit he was installing fell on his back." - Trenton Times article, Thanksgiving Day 2002

*Note: This one didn't really happen but it would have been sweet if it had! He'd never admit it though because he's so proud of being able to do this all by himself... even if it is getting harder every year, what with all the "helpers" who show up out of nowhere.

"I was in line for hours... when I got to the front it turned out that Mr. Redd wasn't even there anymore." - Cole M., Southard Ave (2006)

*Note: This one didn't really happen either, but if it had... Oh man, Cole would have been so mad! Just kidding, we still love you regardless of what you did with your turkey!

"I don't know how we would've made it through today without The Wkrp's help!" - Mrs. Rafferty, Shiloh Ave (2003)

*RE: Sanitation Concerns    One time some assholes from Trenton City Hall tried to get in the way of The Wkrp Turkey Drop because they were concerned with things like "food safety" and "cross-contamination" and other bullshit, so Mr. Redd took it upon himself to drop a bunch of turkeys from a helicopter onto the Courthouse steps as a response to those concerns. He figured that since he doesn't have any formal training in food sanitation or engineering then nothing he does could possibly be as dangerous as what those jerks do every day at City Hall. Unfortunately things didn't go as planned when the helicopter misjudged how high up it was and ended up dropping all of the birds directly onto Trenton City Council members below instead of on the steps. One member was killed and twelve more injured, but not seriously... mostly just feathers, turkey meat, and badly damaged egos. The city decided to drop all charges against Mr. Redd because of how hilarious they thought it was... even if one of their buddies did end up getting killed in the process. The Wkrp Turkey Drop still happened that year after a brief press conference where Mr. Redd said "Happy Thanksgiving" about two hundred times while refusing to answer any questions about what had just recently transpired or what his thoughts were on the tragedy that had taken place, saying "I'm answering no questions today... but you can ask me again later this week!" before abruptly leaving the podium... never to speak of it ever again, not even while under oath!
